Staying in Focus:Daily Prompt:BYOBookworm

Daily Prompt:Write the blurb for the book jacket of the book you’d write, if only you had the time and inclination

I  can’t believe how topical these prompts are for me lately. Not only do I have the time and the inclination to write a book, I am now in the process of preparing it for submission as an e-book. It is a children’s book targeted for ages 9 to 12, but I believe people of all ages can enjoy it. It is a cautionary tale, with a message for us all about taking care of our world. Here is the long description:

Imagine if you could discover the world all over again. In the distant future, a Great War drives most of humankind to take refuge in a sealed, underground world beneath Mount Sanctuary. They build a civilization there, powered by massive machines and the outside world fades from memory. When Ke, a boy with a dream of becoming a storyteller, learns of this “outside,” he decides he must go there.. At the same time, the machines that power his world are failing. Tapping into the earth’s own energy for power, they begin causing earthquakes that are endangering the settlements of people trying to survive on the outside. Ke meets up with two of these outsiders, a girl named Mira and Tip, a wolf with telepathic ability and together with Tuck, his elder friend, the four embark on a dangerous quest to save the earth and reunite their people. This is the story of Ke, Tuck, Mira and Tip, four adventurers who take on a mission to save humankind and on their journey discover that heroes come in all sizes and shapes, and sometimes from the unlikeliest of places…

I hope to have the book  prep finished and ready to submit in about a month. In the meantime you can visit my fiction blog( for a sneak peek.
