Hi! My name is Pat Coyle and I am the author of this blog. The purpose of my blog is to give me a place to present some of my prose, poetry and photography in such a way as to encourage others currently facing difficult times in their lives, as well as a place for me to stay in focus as I meet my challenges.
I am currently retired but was involved in education for my entire career, early on as a tutor and then as director of a preschool, followed by 18 years at Sylvan Learning Center doing a variety of jobs from teaching students, instructing teachers in our programs and as a Director of Education for the center.
I have been writing in one form or another my entire life. I began writing poetry in 1971, and published several articles in small press magazines. My passion for photography began even earlier, with a Kodak brownie camera I received as a child. I have been keeping a personal journal since 1978, when I was pregnant with my first child.
I have been happily married to Bill since 1976, have 2 sons, 1 daughter-in-law and 2 of the most enchanting grandchildren on the planet!
I was diagnosed with colon cancer and Parkinson’s disease in 2007, and much of what you’ll see on my blog comes from my methods of coping with these life challenges My hope is that my sharing of these thoughts, ideas, pictures, and experiences will help someone else as well.
